NAME: Perseus “Percy” Jackson
CANON: Percy Jackson Series
POINT IN CANON: end of The Hidden Oracle
AGE: 17
APPEARANCE: Image Percy takes after his father Poseidon in appearance, with black hair, sea green eyes and a generally greek cast to his features and complexion. He’s described as tall and athletic with the “good looks of a Roman god”. He has a tattoo on the underside of his right arm of a trident and SPQR.
CANON HISTORY: A wiki will show you the way!
CANON PERSONALITY: The first and most important thing to keep in mind about Percy is that he is willing to risk or fight anything to save someone in need. He is, however, generally a laid-back kid with a somewhat sarcastic and quick sense of humor who will generally try to make friends with people. Percy’s loyalty to those he counts as friends is his fatal flaw, but it is also a source of strength to both him and for those around him. It gives him a generally good ability to win over the trust and respect of difficult people such as the gods themselves as well as those who don’t trust greek demigods as a rule. He tends to be honest and forthright with people, and once he gives his word won’t go back on it.
Percy has a good sense of fairness and even if he doesn’t personally get along with someone he’s always willing to help them. His relationship with Clarisse, a daughter of Aries whom he butts heads with rather constantly, is a prime example of this. They may not like each other, but he’s been willing to give her the glory of a successful quest and help her get back her father’s chariot even when she’d been a constant bully towards him from the first time they met. He was also able to get the Olympians to agree to free the kinder Titans from their various imprisonments, as well as get them to try to be more present in their demigod children’s lives by at least formally acknowledging them.
Percy doesn’t care much for power or glory himself, when offered godhood he turned it down in order to stay with his friends and girlfriend Annabeth. He generally seems unaware of the exact limits of his power and doesn’t try to actively seek them out.
For as good of a guy as Percy is, he is far from a golden boy by anyone’s standards. He can be reckless and impulsive, especially when it comes to his own life or when he’s lost patience with a situation. He’s known to speak before thinking at times, and has a deep rebellious streak that can often extend to situations where those with more experience tell him to do something. He hates being controlled or manipulated, though has a slightly easier time accepting that deities have a very hard time changing who they are.
There is a darkness to Percy as well, he’s been through Tartarus and back and faced down primordial gods and goddesses and come out the victor. He isn’t afraid of anything in the mortal realm, and is confident in his own powers going up against gods and monsters. He’s capable of utter ruthlessness and cruelty against enemies, especially when truly angered. It is in this state that he is willing to tap in to the true depths of his powers and reveal how truly terrifying he an be. His willingness to turn the misery goddess Akhlys’ poison against her, a truly torturous way to die and a dark action that frightened even Annabeth at it’s viciousness.
Percy is also aware that eventually, there will be a monster he can’t beat to save people and it is something that weighs him down. He’s also begun to question his own morality to a degree, whether or not he’s a good hero or just a powerful one. He’s aware of his own short fallings, especially when it comes to his relationships with others but is sometimes a bit slow to catch on that there’s something wrong.
All said and done, Percy is, ultimately, a decent guy who represents the better side of his father’s dispositions. Kind and helpful, but still capable of wreaking havoc on those who threaten those he takes responsibility over.

ACTIONSPAM SAMPLE: (set at the beginning of Olympus) So uh… funny thing. You guys remember how I can do that water stuff? Well, okay maybe some of you don’t know because I’ve got a giant gap in what was happening and what is happening.
[Again.]
So hi newbies, I’m Percy. I’m mostly harmless and like blue things and can breathe underwater… among other things.
Anyway, I’m gonna apologize in advance for whatever shenanigans my dad’s side of the family puts us through. They’re not all that bad, really, they’re just…. well, they’re gods. They don’t really get humans all that well.
Blah blah blah, my dad’s Poseidon and that might either really help us here or turn out terribly for me depending. I can help you guys with cover stories if you end up having to use your powers or whatever out in public, demigods aren’t exactly a new thing and if you say you’re one most folks probably won’t be too upset if you break something.
Try not to break things though, it’s not nice.

VETERAN?: (pre)Mobieus/Spark/Belljar, Oddessy intro
ABILITIES:
Demigod: as a demigod, Percy has a number of ’stock standard’ superhuman abilities:
- Awareness: like most demigods, Percy’s brain is naturally attuned for battle and action. He can notice fine details a lot easier in the middle of a battle/high stress situations. (this canonically manifests as ADHD tendencies.)
- Ancient Greek/Latin: Percy can read and understand Ancient Greek (his brain his “hard wired” for it), and he’s able to understand latin though to a lesser extent. Other languages are difficult for him however, and reading and writing are not his strong suits to say the least.
- Superhuman Strength: he’s no Hercules, but he is stronger than a regular mortal
- Superhuman Reflexes: Percy’s reflexes are good enough to react to bullets
- Superhuman Agility: percy’s agility has been described as “impossible” and even a god (Apollo) was impressed by it.
- Superhuman Durability: as a demigod, Percy’s a hell of a lot harder to put down than a normal mortal. he’s been able to survive being thrown by a giant in to solid rock, being kicked in the chest by Ares and other similar blows.
- He can consume small amounts of godly food (Ambrosia and Nectar) without dying right away, it is an (emergency) healing tool for demigods.
Son of Poseidon: as the son of one of the three most powerful gods, Percy is considered one of the most powerful demigods currently alive.
Most of his powers are related to water with a few outliers:
- When near or in water:
- Increased physical prowess: when doused with or standing in water, for a limited time, Percy is physically more powerful in a fight than the war god Aries. The time limit goes away if he is fully submerged.
- Healing: contact with water heals Percy of both wounds and poisoning, though the more severe a wound or poison the longer and more water he needs to be in contact with to heal.
- Major Powers:
- Water Manipulation: water is, literally, Percy’s element and he can manipulate it with a near omnipotent level. He can cause it to ‘harden’ enough for him to walk on, control the flow and direction of it, rupture pipes, etc. The only waters he is unable to control or use himself are those of the River styx. He is also capable of controlling bodily fluids, including saliva and blood but will only use this power in extreme situations or when fully angered
- Underwater Breathing: what it says on the tin, Percy can also create oxygen bubbles to allow others to breathe underwater.
- Water Immunity: percy is immune to water, to the point that unless he wants to he doesn’t get wet. He is immune to underwater pressures and can fall from ridiculous heights and survive so long as he lands in water (he has fallen from the top of the St. Louis Arch in to the Mississippi and lived).
- Sailing Skills: Percy has a supernatural awareness of any sort of ship he is on, and can telekinetically operate them. This has included everything from sailing ships to canoes and motorboats. He also has perfect bearings and navigation when on water.
- Heat Resistance: he is resistant to high temperatures up to being engulfed in lava, though prolonged contact with such intensities is painful.
- Speaking with Sea Creatures
- Speaking with Horses
- Poison control: as poisons are mostly partially water, Percy has the ability to direct and redirect them. This power is more easily used when angry. He is afraid of this power in particular.
- Minor Powers:
- Storm Creation: Percy can summon his own personal mini-hurricane in a serious fight, as well as call rainstorms. He has only limited control of this however, as he is not a child of Zeus
- Earthquake generation: yeah, those too. By stabbing Riptide in to the ground, Percy can open fissures.
- Wind generation
INVENTORY:
- Clothes: Camp Half-Blood T-shirt, jeans, sneakers, winter jacket, hat
- Necklace with four beads on it with different decorations: black with a turquoise trident, a pine tree and the Golden Fleece, an intricate maze, the empire state building with names in tiny greek lettering
- Riptide (Anakulusmos): a celestial bronze sword that can turn in to a ballpoint pen when capped. It glows faintly due to it’s makeup. It will always return to Percy’s pocket and is perfectly balanced for him. When the cap is put on the hilt instead of the tip, it can be written with in pen form (the ink glows like celestial bronze).
Riptide is incapable of harming mortals, as celestial bronze is only useful against non-mortal beings and will pass through normal humans (I would like to know how this relates to Travelers, as it is a plot point at a few times in the books.). It was famously wielded by Hercules, as well as Poseidon and Chiron though the original owner was Zoe Nightshade (who was the one to give it to Hercules). - A few golden drachma (for Iris Calls, but probably useful for coinage).
